An unorganized update of sorts
Autumn is almost here and with it the return of school, school, school. This year will be a teeny bit less full than last (I hope) because of the absence of science but, of course, Algebra and Geometry will no doubt completely fill in that time. I’m also moving on to Latin III which is a study of various sundry poetry (?) and certainly lots of long prose passages. Venio, Videbo, Vincam…cupio.
It’s exciting to think that only one more year of studying after this one and I’ll be able to graduate highschool! Of course then I face the dilemma of what to do then…? Maybe college or maybe not. Something to look into at any rate.
Our new herd, er, flock of chickens is doing well although we did lose one to some foul fiend (coyote, weasel, or wild cat) which managed to get hold of a hen’s leg through the chicken wire, making off with that appendage and leaving the poor hen both legless and lifeless. Next morning the foul deed was discovered and the now fouling fowl was deposited in the woods…ten minutes later no trace of fowl or foul could be seen.
On another note, with more leisure time I’ve been having lots of fun reading more books. I recently read C.S. Lewis’ Space Trilogy which I thoroughly enjoyed (especially Perelandra) and now list all three among my favorites despite the fact that That Hideous Strength is hideous. I love Lewis’ verbal imagery. He is a really great author.
Well…it’s getting kind of late so I think I’ll draw this post to a close with a picture of Caitlin (far left), Andra (middle), and I (right) at the latest English Country Dance. Thanks to the Vangelder family for the picture
